Delvaux hiring Visual Merchandising Director in Tokyo to lead VM strategy across Japan boutiques, pop-ups, and retail events.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and coordinate all visual merchandising activities across Japan, including boutiques, pop-ups, and retail events
- Develop and execute window display guidelines; direct installation and updates across all BTQs, including remote direction to local locations
- Prepare and report window photography to the Merchandising Director and key stakeholders
- Conduct regular BTQ visits to maintain visual standards and implement seasonal concepts localized from headquarters
- Educate BTQ staff on Delvaux's visual merchandising philosophy and global brand aesthetic
- Prepare comprehensive visual concepts for BTQ openings, renewals, and special events
- Adapt visual displays and concepts based on sales performance and market timing
- Localize visual merchandising guidelines in collaboration with the merchandising team
- Translate and communicate global VM concepts to ensure consistent implementation across all locations
- Develop and deliver seasonal VM guidelines (minimum twice annually) and monthly updates to all BTQs
- Participate in event setup and coordinate VM installation with external vendors
- Manage visual merchandising budgets and oversee VM tools, fixtures, and development
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of visual merchandising experience in the retail industry, preferably with luxury brand exposure
- Deep understanding of retail business, client journey, and fashion and department store industries
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead multiple BTQ locations simultaneously
- Proven expertise in window display design and in-store visual strategy
- Strong knowledge of seasonal merchandising cycles and trend adaptation
Skills
Experience
3–5 years of visual merchandising experience in the retail industry, with demonstrable success in luxury goods or high-end fashion environments. Proven track record of managing boutique networks and coordinating remote visual direction across multiple locations.
