Role & Responsibilities

• Process and record day-to-day bookkeeping: journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and expense claims.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash movements; assist with basic treasury tasks.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing procedures, including preparation of reconciliations and adjusting entries.
• Prepare and file VAT declarations and support compliance with Belgian tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and assist with depreciation schedules and capital expenditure recording.
• Liaise with retail boutiques, external suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Prepare documentation and schedules for external audits and internal financial reviews.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc accounting projects and process improvements to strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; professional accounting diploma (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or local certification) is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience in a corporate, retail or luxury environment.
• Solid understanding of Belgian accounting standards and VAT procedures.
• High level of numerical accuracy, attention to detail and integrity handling confidential financial data.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Fluent written and spoken French or Dutch is typically required in Brussels (not specified in source).
