De Beers seeks a full-time Warehouse Assistant in Maidenhead to support warehouse and production supply-chain operations, including receiving and storing goods, preparing production materials, inventory control, dispatch and process improvement. The role also supports shipment documentation, returns, loan stock, procurement and forklift operations where certified.
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries and verify goods against delivery notes for quantity and condition.
- Label incoming goods and place them in designated storage areas to maintain order and traceability.
- Maintain a tidy, hazard-free warehouse environment that supports safety and efficiency.
- Pick and prepare the correct materials for production orders, ensuring they are available on time.
- Participate in stock counts and update inventory records accurately.
- Pack and label goods for shipment in line with customer and logistics requirements, including machines and spare parts.
- Book picked items onto Sales Orders to maintain accurate inventory.
- Assist with documentation and coordination for inbound and outbound shipments to support timely delivery.
- Assist with IPR and CDS reporting when required.
- Maintain awareness of WEEE and PPWR legislation.
- Use inventory systems to book in goods, track transactions and record stock movements accurately.
- Help order supplies or materials as directed, supporting procurement activities.
- Operate a forklift safely to move goods within the warehouse, if certified; training and certification are provided if required.
- Process returned goods and manage loan stock items, including their documentation and storage.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and controls, drive continuous process improvements and operational efficiencies, and support automation and system enhancements to increase productivity.
- Flexibly support other warehouse or Supply Chain tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics or production environment is essential.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
- Willingness to learn and follow processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfort using computers for data entry.
- Reliability, punctuality and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move items safely.
- Desirable: experience with inventory systems such as Microsoft Business Central.
- Desirable: forklift licence.
- Desirable: warehouse safety awareness.
