Role & Responsibilities

• Design and implement electronic designs and systems from concept through production, including PCB layout and capture using Altium
• Develop firmware in embedded C/C++ for microprocessor-based control systems and motor applications
• Integrate hardware, software, and control system elements including collaborative robots, motors, microcontrollers, and pneumatic components
• Design to meet regulatory standards including EMC, Safety, RoHS, Low Voltage Directive, and Radio Equipment Directive
• Create and document cable forms, product wiring, and comprehensive design documentation for manufacturing and testing
• Conduct 2nd line technical support during various project phases and provide peer review within the development team
• Develop test specifications for PCBs and integrated systems, ensuring compliance with production requirements
• Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate solutions into overall technology platforms and processes
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, practices, and procedures, working with safety personnel to maintain best practices

Qualifications

• Degree or higher qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, or related discipline
• Advanced proficiency with electronic design capture and PCB layout using Altium
• Proven experience with embedded microprocessor design and integration (Ethernet, USB, serial interfaces)
• Demonstrated expertise in DC and Stepper motor control systems
• Strong firmware development capability in embedded C/C++
• Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testing (DFT) methodologies
• Familiarity with Low Voltage Directive, Radio Equipment Directive, and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive compliance
• Experience with version control systems and collaborative development environments
• Proven ability to work effectively in agile, multidisciplinary, team-based R&D environments
• Strong analytical and data capture skills, including the ability to interpret experimental data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in technical presentation and peer review

Skills

Experience

7–10 years of professional electronics design and development experience, including hands-on work with embedded systems, hardware integration, and firmware development in a regulated or high-precision manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience working within collaborative, multidisciplinary R&D teams on complex automation or control system projects is essential. Proficiency with regulatory compliance standards and test specification development is required.

Education

Degree (Bachelor's level or higher) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
