The Moldmaking Mechanic assembles, adjusts, tests, maintains and overhauls injection molds, supports production quality, and diagnoses mechanical issues. The role also contributes process improvements and occasional micromechanical work across other departments.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assemble new molds and maintain production molds.
- Assemble, set, adjust and verify all functions of injection molds and tooling.
- Provide production with molds that meet quality requirements.
- Participate in trials and perform necessary corrections.
- Analyze mechanical malfunctions and propose appropriate corrective measures.
- Clean, maintain and overhaul molds.
- Propose process modifications and improvements, drawing on relevant experience.
- Take on occasional general micromechanical work for other departments.
Qualifications
- CFC qualification as a mechanic or polymechanic, or equivalent training.
- At least 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency with conventional machines and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of injection molding or stamping is an advantage.
- Proficiency with CNC machines is an advantage.
- Rigorous, precise, analytical and solution-oriented approach.
- Flexibility and availability.
- Organized, able to multitask, with excellent interpersonal skills when working with internal and external contacts.
- Open-minded, creative and energetic, with the ability to take a step back and listen.
