Coach, the iconic American luxury fashion house founded in New York in 1941, seeks a Temporary Sales Associate to serve as a front-line brand ambassador in its Raleigh, North Carolina location. The successful candidate will deliver personalized, elevated shopping experiences, drive sales through product expertise and cross-selling, and maintain store operations to luxury retail standards. This role combines omni-channel selling, clienteling, and team collaboration across a fast-paced retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Represent Coach brand as ambassador, adhering to Coach Guide to Style and Service standards
- Build lasting client relationships through personalized styling, product expertise, and fashion advice
- Drive sales through cross-selling, upselling, and tailored recommendations
- Utilize mobile POS, clienteling tools, and social selling platforms (including short-form video) to capture customer data and encourage repeat purchases
- Develop and execute personal sales plans; meet or exceed individual and team key performance indicators
- Source new customers, maintain relationships, and follow up to close sales
- Maintain high energy on the sales floor, manage multiple customers, and adapt selling techniques to business needs
- Complete daily operational tasks including cash wrap, inventory processing, replenishment, and visual merchandising while maintaining service standards
- Keep sales floor and stockroom clean, organized, and properly stocked; follow retail policies, point-of-sale, and asset protection procedures
- Process transactions efficiently including purchases, returns, exchanges, and online order pickups
- Support inventory cycles through receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and managing product movement
- Assist teammates in functional areas as required
- Foster collaborative, trust-based environment and encourage team performance
- Participate in brand initiatives, training programs, and inclusion activities
- Welcome feedback, adapt behaviors, and maintain calm, professional demeanor in high-traffic retail environment
Qualifications
- 1+ years of sales experience (luxury retail preferred)
- Knowledge of fashion trends and competitive landscape
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills (iPad, laptop, mobile POS)
- Ability to use walkie-talkies and read price/release sheets
- Strong English language proficiency
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak seasons, and public holidays
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally), climb, bend, kneel, and navigate sales floor and stockroom
Skills
Experience
1+ years of sales experience, preferably in luxury retail, with demonstrated knowledge of fashion trends, competitor offerings, and customer engagement techniques. Combination of relevant education and hands-on retail experience will be considered.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (GED); college coursework or degree in fashion, business, or related field preferred but not required.
