Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily cashier operations, ensuring accuracy of cash handling, drawer reconciliation and deposit preparation.
  • Lead, coach and schedule cashier staff to meet service standards and sales targets while maintaining a polished client experience.
  • Perform and oversee end-of-day and shift reconciliations, resolve discrepancies and maintain audit-ready cash records.
  • Train new hires on POS procedures, cash controls, returns/exchanges and store policies; reinforce loss-prevention protocols.
  • Deliver exceptional client service at the point of sale; handle escalated customer inquiries, complaints and special requests.
  • Collaborate with store leadership on promotions, inventory movements and checkout flow to optimise conversion and throughput.
  • Maintain compliance with cash-management procedures, local regulations and company security policies.
  • Prepare routine reports related to transactions, voids, discounts and cash variances for store management review.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years experience in a retail cashier or cash-handling role, with at least one year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Proven accuracy in cash reconciliation and strong numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop frontline team members in a high-volume retail environment.
  • High level of integrity and adherence to loss-prevention and cash-control procedures.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, evenings and peak retail periods; professional presentation and client-facing demeanour.
