Coach in Deer Park, NY is hiring a part‑time Cashier II to deliver exceptional checkout service and support retail operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver efficient, warm and accurate checkout service at the cashwrap to create a lasting positive customer impression.
- Operate POS systems and mobile devices to process sales, returns, repairs and exchanges in compliance with company policies.
- Promote the Insider Program, gift cards and relevant add‑on sales to maximize average transaction value.
- Maintain strict cash handling and media management procedures; complete end‑of‑shift audits with management.
- Keep the cashwrap organised and presentable; monitor POS equipment and report faults promptly.
- Support training and mentoring of cashiers to sustain service standards and operational accuracy.
- Perform occasional stockroom tasks and physical duties, including lifting up to 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally).
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cashier or retail roles; luxury retail experience preferred.
- Proven cash handling accuracy and familiarity with end‑of‑shift reconciliation/audits.
- Comfortable using POS systems, mobile technology and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and peak retail periods.
- Ability to lift and manoeuvre merchandise and perform physical sales‑floor tasks as required.
- Strong English language proficiency.
Skills
Experience
At least 1 year in cashier or retail positions; prior luxury retail experience is preferred but not mandatory. A combination of relevant education and retail experience will be considered.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; combination of education and relevant retail experience considered.
