Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, professional guest engagement by greeting and assisting customers to create memorable in-store experiences.
- Prepare handcrafted beverages and food items using espresso machines, grinders and ovens while maintaining consistent product quality.
- Drive sales through active promotion of beverages, food and in-store merchandise; tailor recommendations and highlight limited-availability items.
- Support and uphold visual merchandising standards, assist with floor sets, replenishment and presentation of merchandise.
- Maintain operational excellence by following food safety protocols, cleanliness standards and accurate cash-handling procedures.
- Collaborate with store colleagues to solve service issues, share selling strategies and contribute to team performance.
Qualifications
- Prior barista or café experience preferred.
- Proven experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to delegate and coordinate tasks when required.
- Strong organisational aptitude and familiarity with food & beverage operating systems.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and cash-handling procedures.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak retail periods and public holidays.
Skills
Experience
Previous experience as a barista or in a café setting is preferred; demonstrable customer-facing retail or hospitality experience is required to perform frontline service and sales duties.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; a hospitality or food-handling certificate is advantageous.
