Coach is hiring a Barista in New York, NY to craft premium beverages and deliver elevated customer service in a luxury retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve espresso-based and specialty beverages to exacting quality standards, consistently reproducing brand beverage recipes and presentation.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders and ancillary equipment; perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance to ensure peak performance.
- Deliver personalised, attentive service to a discerning clientele; cultivate relationships and create memorable in-store experiences that reflect the Coach brand.
- Manage cash and electronic transactions accurately using the store POS; process orders and reconcile takings as required by store procedures.
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards; follow local regulatory requirements for handling and storing food and beverages.
- Stock, rotate and record inventory for beverage supplies; liaise with store merchandising and operations teams to align service with retail initiatives.
- Uphold visual and service standards across the café area, ensuring presentation and cleanliness align with luxury retail expectations.
Qualifications
- Previous barista or café experience (typically 1+ year) with demonstrated competency on commercial espresso equipment.
- Proven ability to deliver high-touch customer service in a premium or luxury environment.
- Strong numeracy and cash-handling accuracy; experience using POS systems.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices; relevant certificate (e.g., ServSafe) preferred but not mandatory.
- Professional demeanour, excellent communication skills, and an aptitude for working collaboratively within a retail team.
