Coach is hiring a Temporary Barista for its Woodbury Common Coffee Shop in Central Valley, New York. The role is part-time, pays $15–$18 per hour plus tips, and combines handcrafted beverage preparation and guest service with sales, merchandising, and café operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and authentically, assist them, and identify ways to make their experience enjoyable and memorable.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu, merchandise, and Coach heritage, and share information about product craftsmanship and quality.
- Meet individual and store sales goals by presenting beverage, food, and merchandise options; recommend customizations such as alternative milks, extra shots, or larger sizes; and inform guests about limited-availability items.
- Support floor sets, replenishment, and visual merchandising standards.
- Keep the workplace clean, organized, and stocked; follow sanitation and food safety standards; and operate espresso machines, grinders, and ovens to prepare and serve handcrafted beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve problems and ensure a seamless guest experience; share selling strategies and celebrate team achievements.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a barista or in a café setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs; ability to lift at least 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally, as well as climb, bend, kneel, and maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom.
- Effective client service skills, proven organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with food and beverage operating systems.
- Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships.
