Coach is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in New York, NY to lead boutique sales, clienteling and store operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and KPI objectives through daily coaching, sales floor leadership and proactive clienteling.
- Lead, motivate and develop a sales team by conducting performance reviews, training on brand standards and managing schedules to optimize coverage.
- Deliver an exemplary client experience by overseeing clienteling programs, VIP servicing, bespoke appointment bookings and relationship cultivation.
- Manage store operations including cash handling, POS transactions, inventory control, stock replenishment and visual merchandising to maintain brand presentation.
- Ensure compliance with loss-prevention protocols, health & safety standards and company policies while administering disciplinary or corrective actions as required.
- Assist with local hiring, onboarding and workforce planning to maintain staffing levels aligned to footfall and seasonal demand.
- Coordinate in-store events, launches and cross-functional initiatives with regional teams to drive brand awareness and regional sales.
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience in retail, preferably within luxury fashion or premium accessories.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing sales talent.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, motivate and hold team members accountable.
- Excellent customer service orientation and ability to manage high-value client relationships.
- Sound knowledge of retail operations including inventory control, cash management and loss prevention.
Skills
Experience
Typically requires 2+ years of supervisory or assistant manager experience in retail, with preference for candidates who have managed teams in luxury or premium brand environments and who can demonstrate consistent sales performance.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, retail management or a related field preferred.
