Coach is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Elizabeth, New Jersey (Jersey Gardens) to lead sales, operations and team development.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partner with the Store Manager to forecast, plan and execute category and sales initiatives; monitor KPIs and adapt strategies to achieve targets.
- Lead by example on the sales floor to deliver exceptional, inclusive customer experiences and uphold Coach service standards.
- Recruit, onboard, coach and develop store team members; build a collaborative culture and a robust internal talent pipeline.
- Support omni-channel operations including virtual shopping, clienteling and customer data capture; leverage social media and digital trends to enhance engagement.
- Oversee store operations: scheduling, payroll, HR processes, loss prevention, vendor relationships and visual merchandising compliance.
- Collaborate with district and corporate teams to interpret market trends, inform store strategy and drive cross-functional projects.
- Perform regular physical tasks on the sales floor and stockroom; lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ years of leadership experience in retail or service industries; luxury or fashion retail background preferred.
- Proven ability to motivate teams and drive performance to exceed standards.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-traffic retail environment.
- Excellent verbal communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail POS/systems; familiarity with omni-channel services and clienteling strategies.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak seasons and public holidays.
Skills
Experience
At least 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience in retail or service industries; experience in luxury or fashion retail is preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, retail or related field preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 18.50 to USD 31.50 per hour.
