Coach is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Elizabeth, New Jersey (Jersey Gardens) to lead sales, operations and team development.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Store Manager to forecast, plan and execute category and sales initiatives; monitor KPIs and adapt strategies to achieve targets.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor to deliver exceptional, inclusive customer experiences and uphold Coach service standards.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach and develop store team members; build a collaborative culture and a robust internal talent pipeline.
  • Support omni-channel operations including virtual shopping, clienteling and customer data capture; leverage social media and digital trends to enhance engagement.
  • Oversee store operations: scheduling, payroll, HR processes, loss prevention, vendor relationships and visual merchandising compliance.
  • Collaborate with district and corporate teams to interpret market trends, inform store strategy and drive cross-functional projects.
  • Perform regular physical tasks on the sales floor and stockroom; lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ years of leadership experience in retail or service industries; luxury or fashion retail background preferred.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and drive performance to exceed standards.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-traffic retail environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail POS/systems; familiarity with omni-channel services and clienteling strategies.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak seasons and public holidays.
