Clarins seeks a Senior General Accountant for a 10-month maternity cover contract in Paris, managing accounting operations and financial closures.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute general accounting entries and monthly account statements compliant with French standards and IFRS
- Reconcile and justify monthly balance sheet accounts
- Prepare monthly reportings in French and IFRS formats with consolidation uploads to HFM by day 7
- Prepare annual financial statements, including note composition
- Conduct analytical reviews of social accounts
- Maintain relationships with external auditors and statutory auditors
- Prepare and file tax declarations including VAT, CVAE, and advertising tax returns
- Establish annual tax schedules
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and French regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum DCG (Diplôme Comptabilité Gestion) or higher qualification in accounting
- 8–10 years of experience in accounting management, financial direction, or chartered accounting practice
- Recognized for rigour, reliability, and deadline adherence
- Strong analytical capabilities and synthetic reasoning skills
- Effective interpersonal communication with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to confidentiality in handling financial and accounting information

Experience
8–10 years in accounting management, financial direction, or within a chartered accounting firm, demonstrating proficiency in monthly and annual closing cycles, IFRS and French accounting standards, tax administration, and stakeholder communication.
Education
Minimum DCG (Diplôme Comptabilité Gestion) or equivalent higher qualification in accounting.
