The Clarins Group, a global leader in skincare and cosmetics present in over 150 countries, seeks an ambitious intern to join its Product Support and Quality Expertise team. This six-month internship, based in Pontoise, focuses on developing rapid and reliable methodologies to assess the impact of manufacturing non-conformities on product stability. The intern will work with Lumisizer equipment equipped with Step Technology to accelerate stability analysis of cosmetic formulations, generating critical data for quality and production teams to expedite decision-making and secure product reintegration into production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and execute cosmetic formula testing protocols according to defined experimental plans
- Characterize samples using advanced analytical instrumentation including Lumisizer with Step Technology, rheology, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
- Analyze and process experimental data using statistical methods and visualization software
- Develop and validate rapid stability screening methodologies to assess manufacturing non-conformities
- Generate impact reports and alert guidelines for quality and production teams
- Recommend strategies to optimize non-conformity management and shelf-life determination protocols
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Master's degree or equivalent (Bac+5) in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer science, or cosmetic formulation
- Demonstrated knowledge of cosmetic product analysis, particularly optical and physicochemical characterization techniques
- Proficiency in experimental design, testing protocols, and data analysis (Excel, statistical software)
- Understanding of cosmetic stability challenges, particularly creaming resistance and sedimentation behavior
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Autonomous, proactive, and intellectually curious individuals with a genuine passion for understanding the correlations between formulation behavior and product properties in cosmetic science.
Education
Pursuing a Master's degree (Bac+5) in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer science, or cosmetic formulation, or equivalent qualification.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is up to EUR 1,650 per month.
