Clarins Phytochemistry Intern, Pontoise (6 months, Feb 2027). Develop natural cosmetic actives using HPLC-UV/MS, plant extraction, and bioactivity testing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews on relevant subjects and techniques in phytochemistry and plant extraction
- Perform phytochemical characterization of natural actives using HPLC-UV/MS and/or SFC techniques, including secondary metabolite identification, quantification, and molecule purification
- Develop and optimize plant extraction processes by evaluating extraction parameters and establishing repeatable, robust production protocols
- Assess biological activities of plant extracts through enzymatic testing and data analysis
- Develop and validate new analytical methods for active ingredient characterization
- Prepare and present experimental reports and oral presentations of findings
- Contribute to daily laboratory operations and team activities
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bac+5 degree (engineering school or Master's) in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Phytochemistry, or Pharmacognosy, following a DUT or BTS foundation
- Strong knowledge of natural substances and plant metabolites
- Understanding of plant physiology, human physiology, and cellular biochemistry
- Knowledge of plant extraction processes and techniques
- Practical experience with chromatographic techniques
- Competency in analytical chemistry
- Familiarity with biochemical testing methods (in vitro) desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
