Role & Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Malaysia people strategy, advising the General Manager and leadership team on organisation design, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations and change initiatives
- Lead annual HR budget planning and develop three-year people plans aligned with business objectives
- Leverage people analytics, digitalisation and process improvement to enhance organisational agility, HR efficiency and employee experience
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for frontline and retail roles while partnering with the Regional Talent Acquisition team on office hiring
- Strengthen employer branding and develop talent pipelines to support business growth
- Lead performance management, talent reviews and succession planning initiatives to build leadership capability and ensure business continuity
- Direct learning and leadership development programmes to foster career growth and organisational capability
- Oversee payroll, compensation and benefits administration, ensuring competitive and efficient delivery
- Manage HR policies, employee lifecycle processes and HR systems to maintain service quality and accuracy
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysia employment legislation, Group policies, ethical standards and health and safety requirements
- Proactively identify and manage people-related risks across the organisation
- Build an inclusive, high-performing culture through strategic employee engagement and internal communication
- Lead wellbeing, employee relations and conflict resolution initiatives
- Drive local Corporate Social Responsibility, sustainability and employee volunteering programmes in partnership with stakeholders
- Lead and develop the Malaysia HR team of three, setting clear priorities, accountabilities and service standards
- Oversee office administration and workplace environment management
- Collaborate with country functions and the APAC HR community to align regional initiatives and share best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
- At least 10 years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- Broad capability across business partnering, organisation development, talent management, performance management, rewards, HR operations, employee relations and workforce planning
- Strong commercial judgement and proven experience advising senior business leaders
- Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and translating business priorities into practical people solutions
- Credible, people-oriented leadership style with ability to build and influence teams
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with HR data, systems and technology
- Deep knowledge of Malaysia employment legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience in retail, premium beauty or consumer-facing environments is preferred
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Melayu is required; proficiency in Chinese is advantageous
