Clarins UK Ltd seeks an Assistant Management Accountant to support the Finance department from its London head office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, deliver variance analysis with explanatory commentary, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, and provide business partnering support to leadership and departmental heads. The role encompasses statutory accounts preparation, corporation tax analysis, and the identification and implementation of process improvements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare timely, complete and accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts, maintaining the month-end timetable and coordinating delivery to agreed deadlines
- Provide variance analysis with explanatory commentary and end-of-month reports to support management decision-making
- Maintain the balance sheet reconciliation file and complete assigned monthly and quarterly reconciliations
- Business partner with the Leadership Team, Heads of Department, Payroll and Travel Retail, providing insightful and accurate analysis to budget holders
- Support statutory accounts preparation and respond to queries arising from the year-end audit
- Assist the Financial Accountant with corporation tax return preparation by analysing spend
- Drive continuous improvement by suggesting and implementing better ways of working
Qualifications
- Part-qualified in CIMA, ACA or ACCA and actively studying towards completion
- 1–2 years' experience in an accounting role or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
- Competent user of management information systems (Hyperion, ERM packages, Cognos)
