Clarins seeks an Accounts Payable Accountant (part-time, 20 hours/week) for its Munich office (relocating to Munich from Starnberg as of 01.01.2027). The role encompasses invoice verification and posting, reconciliation of open payables, investigation and resolution of pricing and invoice discrepancies with internal departments and suppliers, preparation of weekly payment runs, and maintenance of vendor master data. The successful candidate will support business units and controlling with purchase order execution and oversight of payment terms compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Verify, book, and reconcile incoming invoices against purchase orders and goods receipts
- Monitor and maintain open payables list, conduct account reconciliations, and ensure adherence to payment and discount terms
- Proactively investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with internal departments and suppliers
- Prepare weekly payment runs, implement payment holds where necessary, and maintain vendor master data
- Support business units and controlling on purchase order creation and processing questions
Qualifications
- Completed commercial apprenticeship or equivalent accounting qualification
- Multiple years of professional accounting experience, ideally with focus on accounts payable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with Workday or similar ERP systems preferred
- Proactive working style with ability to identify issues early and drive resolution independently
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail; effective priority management across multiple concurrent tasks
- Solid English-language skills for international headquarters communication; French language skills a plus
