Church's seeks an In-Store Artisan in Milan to deliver luxury footwear repair, restoration, and personalization services, exemplifying English craftsmanship and heritage.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute repair processes and maintain comprehensive repair documentation in compliance with brand standards
  • Manage Made-to-Order and Made-to-Measure client journeys from consultation through factory coordination and post-delivery support
  • Perform Finger Polishing (artisanal hand-finishing) services on daily and weekly schedules, liaising directly with clients and boutique teams
  • Achieve conversion targets for repair service requests and track performance against monthly and annual KPIs
  • Deliver post-purchase care services including warranty resoling, solutions beyond warranty coverage, periodic client check-ins, and accessory maintenance
  • Support the boutique team in client engagement, loyalty initiatives, and sales opportunity development, including Personal and Private Appointments
  • Conduct footwear condition assessments and recommend appropriate care, repair, restoration, or personalization solutions aligned with client needs
  • Demonstrate artisanal techniques to clients and articulate the heritage, craftsmanship, and services philosophy of Church's to create memorable in-store experiences
  • Maintain administrative documentation for repairs, customization requests, and CRM client registrations
  • Support client database registration and manage CRM follow-up protocols

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience in luxury footwear repair, restoration, care, and customization—ideally in high-end fashion, leather goods, or luxury shoemaking sectors
  • Advanced mastery of traditional shoemaking techniques including polishing, patination, leather care, and finishing
  • Demonstrated expertise in repair and maintenance operations such as resoling, heel replacement, insole substitution, leather restoration, and color treatment
  • Proficiency in personalization and bespoke services delivery within a retail environment, including manual monogramming, custom finishing techniques, and laser engraving (comprehensive training provided)
  • Deep knowledge of leather typologies, premium materials, care products, professional maintenance treatments, and informed product recommendations
  • Skilled operation and maintenance of specialized tools and equipment required for footwear care, repair, restoration, and personalization
  • Comprehensive understanding of luxury footwear construction methodologies, artisanal production standards, and heritage craftsmanship principles
  • Exceptional manual dexterity, artistic sensibility, and meticulous attention to detail and quality
