Christie's Photography Department Intern (6 months), Paris. Support cataloguing, research, and exhibitions—€900/month plus benefits.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with artwork cataloguing, including coordination of restoration, expertise acquisition, framing, and condition reports
- Conduct bibliographic research essential to lot expertise using library, archival, and online resources
- Prepare descriptive documentation for appraisals and coordinate artwork movement between in-house facilities, framers, and restorers
- Compile sale dossiers with all requisite material: high-resolution photography, condition reports, scans, bibliographic references, and in situ imagery
- Contribute to the organization and execution of departmental exhibitions
- Maintain correspondence with restorers, appraisers, and artists
- Provide administrative support to the Photography department and specialist, including correspondence management, research, and project assistance
- Support the Post-War & Contemporary Art and Collections departments as needed
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Art History or equivalent
- Real and demonstrated interest in photography
- Extended internship or professional experience in the art market
- Strong command of English language
- Proficiency with computer systems and software tools

Education
Master's degree in Art History and/or a dual degree combining Art History with a business school or sciences po diploma (or equivalent); genuine interest in photography.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 900 per month.
Benefits
Monthly stipend of €900 gross; meal vouchers valued at €10 daily (€5 subsidized by Christie's); transport reimbursement at 50% of costs.
