Christie's seeks a Jewellery Specialist in Paris to manage client relationships, source consignments, and drive business development in fine jewellery auctions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with collectors, dealers, institutions, and trade clients
- Source property for auction and private sales, meeting individual business-getting targets
- Conduct comprehensive valuations and prepare detailed proposals for prospective consignments
- Negotiate consignment terms in accordance with company policies and approval guidelines
- Provide expert market intelligence, pricing recommendations, and commercial insights
- Prepare catalogue property including research, cataloguing, and client-facing marketing materials
- Collaborate with specialists across the Christie's international network to maximize business opportunities
- Support pre-sale exhibitions, client events, and sale-related activities
- Partner with Marketing, Press, and Client Strategy teams to promote sales and business development
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Represent Christie's at industry fairs, events, and professional functions
- Contribute to departmental commercial objectives and profitability
Qualifications
- Significant experience in the jewellery industry, with auction house experience preferred
- Proven track record of business development and client relationship management
- Strong knowledge of the international jewellery market and market dynamics
- Demonstrated expertise in valuations, pricing analysis, and consignment negotiations
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Fluent in both French and English
- Strong communication, organisational, and client-service capabilities
