Christie's Paris seeks Art History Intern for African and Oceanic Art department, 6-month position from January–June 2027, €900/month stipend.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the cataloguer in the development of sale catalogues, including conducting research, coordinating with conservators, experts, mount makers, and photographers
- Conduct archival research in libraries, archives, online databases, and museum collections to support artwork documentation
- Participate in cataloguing sessions, photography sessions, and examination of artworks within Christie's warehouses and storage facilities
- Support the Business Coordinator with daily administrative and organizational tasks for the department
- Build and maintain comprehensive documentary files for each artwork, assembling research, condition reports, and all supporting materials necessary for client presentations prior to sale and post-sale archival retention
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Art History, or equivalent qualification in a double degree program combining art history with business school, political science institute, or related discipline
- Fluent English proficiency
- Proficient with computer applications and office software
