The Incoming Goods and Collections Technician supports the receipt, preparation, storage, movement and release of client property at Christie’s King Street, coordinating with specialist teams, photographers, clients and logistics partners. The role also supports sale and viewing operations, property handling and safe, accurate collections.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming client property in accordance with Christie’s procedures.
  • Unpack, condition-check, measure, tag and prepare property for photography and cataloguing.
  • Accurately enter all required information into Christie’s systems.
  • Prepare property for movement through the pre-sale workflow.
  • Coordinate with Specialist Departments and photographers to ensure property is available when required.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating incoming deliveries to manage onsite deadlines and workflow.
  • Prepare sold property for client collection and release.
  • Liaise with Client Services, Post-Sale, Art Transport, shipping agents and clients regarding collections.
  • Ensure property is correctly identified, tagged and prepared before release.
  • Verify collection documentation and follow Christie’s release procedures.
  • Support customer collections, transportation handovers and third-party releases.
  • Escalate collection concerns, discrepancies or damage to management.
  • Move property safely throughout Christie’s premises and storage locations.
  • Assist with transfers between King Street and approved third-party storage facilities.
  • Support saleroom, viewing, photography and Specialist Department activities as required.
  • Handle, pack and store property in accordance with Christie’s standards.
  • Assist with crate movements, packing and general operational support.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and professional working environment.
  • Support Christie’s 5S and sustainability initiatives.
  • Comply with Health & Safety, security, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Support peak sale periods through flexible working when required.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fine art handling, warehouse operations, logistics or collections.
  • Good understanding of artwork handling and packing techniques.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
