Christie's seeks Head of Technology Procurement in London. Senior commercial strategist partnering with CIO on technology strategy, supplier management, and value realization.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead senior commercial engagement across all Christie's Technology Group functions and act as chief commercial partner to the CIO and technology leadership on major investments, suppliers, and strategic decisions
- Challenge technology demand, investment cases, and major commitments before decisions are finalized; translate technology priorities into clear commercial options, risks, and recommended negotiation positions
- Define and lead the commercial governance model for material technology sourcing, renewals, and supplier decisions, ensuring clear decision rights and executive escalation routes
- Own technology commercial strategies aligned to enterprise priorities, technology roadmaps, and investment plans across software, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and managed services
- Shape sourcing decisions regarding build, buy, partner, and renew activities where commercial structure, supplier dependency, or value delivery are material considerations
- Lead complex negotiations, licensing positions, commercial structures, and supplier decisions; define the technology supplier ecosystem framework to improve value, resilience, innovation, and accountability
- Drive measurable value, savings, and cost avoidance from major technology investments and suppliers; identify and manage commercial, licensing, and delivery risks before they impact outcomes
- Build Christie's commercial capability in technology procurement decisions and embed procurement as a strategic advisor; provide direction and coaching to the Technology & Strategic Sourcing Manager across technology sourcing and priority business demand
- Provide automated governance, reporting, and escalation routes that support supplier resilience and continuity; ensure technology commitments align to business objectives and risk appetite
- Develop and mentor the Technology & Strategic Sourcing Manager through clear direction, coaching, and constructive escalation support across all technology sourcing initiatives
Qualifications
- Executive-level stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience operating as a commercial partner to a CIO or Board-level technology leadership team
- Significant experience leading technology procurement, technology commercial management, or strategic sourcing functions within a complex global organization
- Proven leadership of large-scale technology sourcing, transformation, and value creation programmes
- Strong commercial strategy, investment appraisal, and business case development capability
- Deep understanding of technology supplier ecosystems and business-owned supplier governance models
- Strong negotiation, commercial structuring, licensing, and contract management expertise
- Experience managing technology risk, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Strong knowledge of software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and managed services markets
- Track record of delivering organizational change and embedding new operating models
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capability
Skills
Experience
Candidates should demonstrate significant and demonstrable experience in senior technology procurement, technology commercial, or sourcing leadership roles, with proven success leading enterprise technology sourcing strategies within complex global organizations. Experience supporting CIOs, technology leadership teams, and enterprise transformation programmes is essential. Demonstrated capability in commercial management of large-scale software, cloud, and digital transformation investments, combined with a track record of enabling value through strategic technology supplier partnerships, is required. Experience operating as a strategic business partner rather than a transactional procurement leader is expected.
Education
Professional qualification in Procurement, Commercial Management, Technology, or a related discipline is desirable but not mandatory.
