Gooding Christie’s seeks a Business Analyst to provide analytical, operational, and strategic support across its global automotive auction and private sales business, including market research, financial analysis, reporting, and project coordination. The role is a one-year fixed-term contract in Santa Monica, working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support commercial initiatives and integration with Christie’s systems.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support specialists and leadership with market valuations, appraisal analysis, and market research.
- Monitor competitor auctions, private sales, and market activity; prepare regular reports on market trends, auction performance, sell-through rates, and pricing.
- Maintain and develop historical transaction databases, market intelligence resources, and business reporting tools.
- Coordinate internal commercial approvals for guarantees, enhanced hammer arrangements, and other structured transactions; work with Commercial Finance and prepare supporting analyses and presentation materials.
- Build financial models, business cases, executive presentations, and briefing materials for senior management and strategic decision-making.
- Support business development by analyzing market opportunities, client activity, regional performance, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal and external financial partners, providing transaction data, market information, and reporting to support financial modelling and analysis.
- Assist with developing and implementing reporting dashboards, business metrics, and specialist performance reporting.
- Support cross-functional strategic initiatives, including Europe growth, Private Sales expansion, sealed bid initiatives, and technology implementation projects.
- Support data integrity, reporting processes, and systems integration as Gooding Christie’s integrates with Christie’s technology platforms.
- Perform other duties and strategic projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- Some prior work experience in a fast-paced, client-facing or operational environment preferred.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to build financial models and executive presentations.
- Experience with reporting systems, CRM platforms, or business intelligence tools preferred, with the ability to learn Christie’s internal systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.
- Interest in automobiles and/or the collector car market preferred.
- Fluency in English.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 60,000 to USD 65,000 per annum.
