Christian Dior Couture — Textile Development Assistant (Intern) in Paris. 6‑month internship starting September; support fabric tracking, suppliers and budget.
Role & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed fabric data sheets and records for all materials and swatches.
- Register and track incoming fabric samples and swatches; manage fabric binder and sample logistics.
- Verify fabric codes, supplier data, prices and other technical information; flag missing or incorrect entries.
- Monitor supplier lead times and delivery schedules; escalate deviations and enforce delivery timelines.
- Coordinate fabric dispatches and manage yardage recommendations or cancellations according to production needs.
- Liaise daily between the textile team and external suppliers to obtain missing information and ensure compliance.
- Prepare consolidated tables and simplified reporting for the creative studio and purchasing manager.
- Compile and maintain data on cancelled, on‑hold or unused fabrics and support budget tracking for collections.
- Manage relationships with handling/warehouse teams: arrival of samples, master approvals and release procedures.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in fashion, textiles or related discipline.
- Internship agreement (convention de stage) mandatory; availability for a 6‑month placement starting in September.
- Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and detailed records.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and tracking.
- Professional command of English.
Experience
Entry‑level; a prior internship or first experience in textiles, product development or purchasing within the fashion or luxury sector is desirable but not required.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or current enrolment) in Fashion, Textiles, Product Development or comparable programme. A signed stage convention is required.
