Role & Responsibilities

  • Select appropriate materials and tools for alterations.
  • Dismantle and reassemble garments for alterations.
  • Construct and assemble pieces following alteration specifications.
  • Sew and assemble seams and hems, both by machine and hand.
  • Press garments to ensure a polished finish.
  • Verify alterations and ensure proper garment fit.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
  • Occasionally create custom pieces based on client specifications and provided patterns.

Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of measurement taking for potential in-store fittings.
  • Significant experience in alterations within the retail environment.

Skills

Expertise in fabric and textile characteristics. Proficiency in alteration techniques including assembly, leather stitching, and patching. Recognized for high-quality work and swift execution. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to integrate into a team. Punctuality, precision, and focus. Adaptability to client demands and delivery timelines.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of experience in garment alterations, particularly within a retail setting.
