Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper fit of garments through precise measurement and assessment
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding alterations, fit, repairs, cleaning, and care recommendations
  • Mark garments accurately for tailoring according to customer specifications
  • Execute alterations within agreed timelines using advanced sewing techniques
  • Press and finish garments to luxury standards
  • Repair garments when appropriate, maintaining structural and aesthetic integrity
  • Maintain orderly appearance of tailor shop with well-stocked supplies
  • Inspect and maintain all equipment including sewing machines, pressers, and steamers in optimal working condition
  • Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries with professional etiquette
  • Communicate customer requests and special requirements to management
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and suggest improvements to tailor shop service and productivity
  • Organize and store altered and unaltered merchandise in a neat, systematized manner
  • Participate in store meetings and professional development training

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a tailor, seamstress, or fitter
  • Proficiency in operating sewing machines, industrial pressing equipment, and steam finishing systems
