Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper fit of garments through expert measurement, marking, and alteration work
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding alterations, fit, repairs, cleaning, and garment care with comprehensive guidance
  • Mark garments with precision for tailoring and execute sewing alterations within agreed-upon timelines
  • Press and finish garments to exacting standards using industrial equipment
  • Perform repairs to garments when appropriate to restore original condition and aesthetics
  • Maintain the tailor shop in an orderly, professional manner and ensure supplies are consistently stocked
  • Inspect and maintain all equipment including sewing machines, pressers, and steamers to ensure optimal working condition
  • Communicate customer requests and concerns to management to facilitate service excellence
  • Provide professional telephone support to customers, addressing inquiries with courtesy and expertise
  • Hang and store customer merchandise—both altered and unaltered—in a neat, organized manner
  • Participate in store meetings and training seminars as required
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional tailoring or alterations experience
  • Expert ability to provide high-quality workmanship in alterations, repairs, and pressing
  • Proficiency in accurately marking and pinning garments for alteration
  • Comprehensive understanding of garment construction, fit issues, and alteration best practices
  • Strong knowledge of garment care instructions and fabric-specific maintenance recommendations
  • Exceptional customer service skills delivered in person and via telephone
