Christian Dior Couture seeks experienced Tailor for men's alterations at Paris flagship. Full-time permanent position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Select appropriate materials and tools for each alteration project
- Disassemble and reassemble garment pieces according to alteration specifications
- Construct and assemble pieces following detailed alteration worksheets and technical guidelines
- Execute seams and hems using both machine and hand-stitching techniques
- Press finished garments to precise standards
- Verify alterations and ensure optimal fit of the completed garment
- Maintain an organized and hygienic workspace in compliance with Maison standards
- Occasionally execute made-to-measure pieces from supplied patterns and fabrics (foundations, trousers, skirts, etc.)
- Perform customer measurements in-store on an exceptional basis as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in retail alterations
- Technical expertise in taking measurements and understanding garment fit
- Comprehensive knowledge of textile characteristics, materials, and advanced alteration techniques (assembly, construction, leather seaming, patching)
- Demonstrated excellence in work quality and execution speed
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration over extended periods
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in garment alterations within a luxury retail environment, with demonstrated expertise in menswear tailoring and bespoke garment construction.
Education
Professional training or formal education in tailoring, garment construction, or textile craftsmanship is preferred. Technical certifications in alterations or menswear tailoring are advantageous.
