Role & Responsibilities

  • Assess garment fit and execute precise alterations, repairs, and pressing to maintain Christian Dior's exacting standards of craftsmanship
  • Consult with clientele regarding alterations, fit concerns, fabric care, and maintenance recommendations with sophisticated product knowledge
  • Mark and pin garments accurately for tailoring work according to specifications and alteration schedules
  • Operate and maintain all specialized equipment, including industrial sewing machines, pressers, steamers, and pressing equipment in optimal working condition
  • Manage workflow prioritization and time allocation efficiently in a dynamic, peak-demand retail setting
  • Maintain the tailor shop in neat, organized condition with well-stocked supplies and properly stored altered and unaltered merchandise
  • Provide exceptional telephone etiquette and customer service, addressing inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Relay customer requests and feedback to management; contribute informed suggestions to enhance service delivery and shop productivity
  • Participate in store training sessions and team meetings to maintain alignment with company standards and policies
  • Execute administrative responsibilities including accurate documentation, record-keeping, and order tracking

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' professional experience as a tailor, seamstress, or master fitter
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating industrial sewing machines, pressing equipment, and specialized tailoring machinery
  • Advanced ability to assess fit issues and recommend appropriate alterations and garment adjustments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of luxury fabric types, care instructions, and garment maintenance protocols
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with capacity to engage clientele at luxury retail level
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift and move heavy garments, garment bags, and merchandise throughout the workspace
