Christian Dior Couture seeks a Skilled Couture Seamstress for its Haute Couture and ready-to-wear ateliers in Paris.
Role & Responsibilities
- Construct exceptional garments, including coats, jackets, trousers and skirts.
- Read and interpret designs from the Creative Studio and identify the technical requirements for their execution.
- Complete all garment-making stages: shaping on the mannequin, hand sewing, cutting, bonding, pre-assembly, assembly and final inspection.
- Identify opportunities to enhance garments through the selection and treatment of materials, techniques and accessories.
- Carry out alterations and adjustments following fittings while respecting quality requirements and the original design.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of confirmed experience in a similar role, ideally in a Haute Couture or high-end ready-to-wear environment.
- Excellent command of garment-making techniques and outstanding manual dexterity.
- Passion for the craft and creative sensitivity to interpret Studio sketches accurately.
- Rigour, precision and close attention to detail.
- Patience, proactivity and responsiveness to technical constraints.
- Autonomy, energy and the ability to make constructive proposals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team ethic.
- Curiosity, open-mindedness and an interest in the Atelier’s craftsmanship and techniques.
- Flexibility with working hours, particularly during collection periods.
