Christian Dior Couture — Paris: Retail Merchandising Manager (temporary maternity cover) to lead Maison merchandising, forecasting and market deployment, July–Dec 2026.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and deploy a targeted commercial and merchandising strategy for the Maison & Art de Vivre category across regions; translate strategy into a clear commercial roadmap for markets.
- Identify growth levers and obstacles; propose and implement action plans including development into new territories, high-end services and large-scale projects.
- Project revenue by zone and category in coordination with finance and markets; produce performance analyses, qualitative feedback and regular reporting to monitor achievement of financial targets.
- Own launch cadence and assortment planning: define core offer, construct and challenge boutique assortments, and manage open-to-buy per zone.
- Plan and run buying sessions (2–3 per year); produce buying recommendations and participate in showroom organisation with markets and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate customer-facing initiatives including client events (CRM, VM, markets), order taking, application management and delivery follow-up.
- Manage clearance and destocking campaigns and supervise B2B orders and non-retail purchases.
- Oversee Books and Galerie Gift Shop assortment and operations.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Purchasing to align production and delivery plans with retail priorities and share sales forecasts by collection.
- Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to ensure in-store presentation reflects business priorities and maximises sell-through.
- Lead and develop the commercial team: set priorities, follow performance in a supportive environment and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in retail development, merchandising or category management, preferably within luxury fashion or lifestyle brands.
- Proven track record in commercial forecasting, open-to-buy management and assortment planning.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills with experience coordinating cross‑functional teams (marketing, supply chain, finance, VM).
- Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal and ambassadorial skills; service-oriented and collaborative approach with market teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesise data into actionable recommendations and to defend proposals with conviction.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability and appetite for test-and-learn projects; comfort with field presence and market travel.
- Affinité produit for Maison and Art de Vivre categories is a plus.
Skills
Experience
At least 8 years' experience in commercial development, merchandising or category management within luxury fashion, lifestyle or related retail environments, with hands-on exposure to market deployment and cross‑functional leadership.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, fashion merchandising, retail management or equivalent; advanced degree a plus.
