Christian Dior Couture in Paris seeks a Retail Merchandising Manager (temporary maternity cover) for Maison & Art de Vivre. Hybrid role focused on commercial strategy and assortment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and deploy a targeted commercial strategy for the Maison & Art de Vivre category and communicate a clear roadmap to regional markets.
  • Identify growth levers and obstacles; propose and implement actionable plans to accelerate category expansion, including new high‑end territories, services and major projects.
  • Forecast sales by zone and category in coordination with finance and market teams; produce performance analyses and qualitative reporting to track targets and billing.
  • Own assortment strategy and buying rhythms: calculate open‑to‑buy, define Core Offer recommendations, review zone purchases and lead 2–3 buying sessions per year.
  • Coordinate customer events, showroom activity and B2B orders; manage order intake, application processing and delivery follow‑up.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Purchasing to align production and delivery plans with retail priorities and share collection forecasts.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising to ensure collections are presented in‑store according to business priorities; supervise Gift Shop and book assortment for Galerie Dior.
  • Manage and mentor the commercial team: set priorities, monitor objective attainment and foster a collaborative, service‑oriented culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial development, category merchandising or retail planning, ideally within luxury goods or maison/home sectors.
  • Proven ability to build and deploy commercial strategies and translate them into operational plans and performance metrics.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a diplomatic, ambassadorial presence toward internal teams and external markets.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent synthesis skills and the ability to present data‑driven recommendations.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, test‑and‑learn approach and willingness to work in a hands‑on, field‑oriented manner.
  • Product sensibility and a genuine interest in maison, art de vivre or luxury home products is a strong advantage.
