Christian Dior Couture seeks a Product Development Manager — Leather Goods in Florence, Italy. Lead technical development and industrialization for leather accessories.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the end-to-end development process of leather goods collections, acting as the primary technical interlocutor for the Creative Direction.
  • Translate creative sketches into precise technical datasheets and detailed bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Conduct rigorous technical reviews of prototypes, identify critical issues and specify corrective actions to ensure product functionality (structure, weights, volumes, wearability).
  • Guarantee replicability and adherence to technical specifications through the fine-tuning of models for mass production.
  • Collaborate closely with industrialization and production teams to optimise processes, costs and lead times.
  • Interface with style teams, product development, production and external suppliers; participate in collection progress and prototype review meetings.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs (lead time, prototype conformity, costs, team efficiency, supplier performance) and present periodic technical and performance reports to Creative Direction and senior stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of measurement and continuous improvement within the development team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in leather goods product development within the luxury segment, including managerial responsibilities.
  • Proven leadership and organisational skills with capacity to prioritise and coordinate cross‑functional projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in fitting, grading, prototype validation and bill of materials preparation for leather accessories.
  • Analytical aptitude to define, monitor and act upon KPIs related to lead time, costs, prototype conformity and supplier performance.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with creative, production and external supplier networks.
  • Fluent English; French language skills preferred.

Experience
