Role & Responsibilities
- Process inbound freight, returns-to-vendor (RTVs), transfers, chargebacks and damages accurately and in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain an orderly, secure and well‑organized stockroom and receiving area, ensuring merchandise is properly ticketed, sensored and protected.
- Participate in inventory controls and cycle counts; reconcile discrepancies and communicate with central distribution and corporate inventory control.
- Support floor moves, merchandising resets, display maintenance, pricing changes and occasional customer packing/wrapping as required.
- Operate and maintain receiving equipment and systems; complete required documentation and ensure compliance with security and record‑keeping procedures.
- Identify operational issues in the receiving/stockroom area and propose practical solutions to improve service, productivity and loss prevention.
- Adhere to all company policies and participate in store meetings and training programs.
Qualifications
- Previous retail stockroom, shipping and receiving experience (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to handle merchandise and receiving operations with attention to loss‑prevention protocols.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven organization and follow‑through.
- Ability to read, count and complete documentation accurately; comfortable processing merchandise through inventory systems.
- Capacity to adapt priorities and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- Ability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends and holidays; physical capability for extended standing and heavy lifting.
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of retail stock, shipping/receiving or inventory operations experience; demonstrated experience with cycle counts and loss‑prevention procedures.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in retail operations, logistics or merchandising is a plus.
