Role & Responsibilities
- Manage all receiving and shipping functions affecting store inventory with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain organized and clean storage, receiving areas, and general store facilities, ensuring proper merchandise labeling and security device installation
- Process all incoming shipments, returns to vendors (RTV), chargebacks, transfers, and damaged items in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Adhere to receiving practices in compliance with established company policies, protecting company funds and assets while maintaining personnel management, safety, and record-keeping standards
- Apply appropriate security devices to inventory to prevent loss and shrinkage
- Communicate regularly with distribution centers and company stock control departments
- Participate in full physical inventories and cyclical inventory counts
- Assist with store layout changes, merchandising setup, display maintenance, and general store upkeep
- Contribute to in-store price updates as directed
- Support customer purchase packaging when needed
- Identify operational issues and propose solutions to enhance receiving area productivity and service quality
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times
- Attend store meetings and training seminars as required
- Complete additional tasks assigned by management on an ad-hoc basis
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of prior experience in inventory management, shipping/receiving, or retail operations
- Ability to manage receiving operations efficiently with appropriate merchandise handling practices
- Proficiency in reading, counting, and writing accurately to complete all required documentation
- Ability to process information and merchandise using computer systems
- Physical capacity to stand for extended periods and lift heavy boxes and store fixtures
- Availability for varied shift schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of prior experience in inventory management, shipping/receiving, or retail operations within a sales environment. Demonstrated capability in efficiently managing receiving operations and handling merchandise appropriately.
Education
Ability to read, count, and write accurately; capacity to process information and merchandise using computer systems and office equipment.
