Role & Responsibilities

  • Interpret and create garment volumes based on artistic studio sketches using wooden dress forms
  • Develop toiles and coordinate pattern-making with CAD/CAM pattern makers
  • Guide and oversee assembly with the team of first hands across all materials
  • Monitor optimization of final finishing; propose technical solutions to enhance feasibility and quality
  • Participate in fittings and ensure compliance with quality, cut, and finishing standards specific to the maison
  • Meet deadlines set by workshop supervisors
  • Collaborate closely with first hands, designers, cutters, handlers, workshop seconds and leads, and the CAD/CAM design studio
  • Transmit craftsmanship knowledge through mentoring apprentices, new colleagues, and junior first hands

Qualifications

  • CAP, BEP, or Baccalauréat professionnel in Fashion Crafts, Pattern Making, or Patternage
  • Minimum 8–10 years of verified experience in a similar role and environment
  • Expert knowledge of materials, fabrics, and textile behavior
  • Mastery of industrial and assembly techniques
  • Strong manual dexterity and technical precision in pattern-making, assembly, and garment construction
  • Proven ability to adapt to the pace of collections
  • Strong sense of rigor, precision, and attention to detail
