Christian Dior Couture seeks a Leather Materials Sourcing Manager in Paris to lead leather procurement, innovation, and supplier management for women's collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct active market research on leather treatments, finishes, and innovations aligned with the Maison's creative identity and strategic direction
- Develop in-depth expertise in leather transformation and treatment techniques, proposing proactive innovations and solutions in collaboration with the Design Studio
- Translate creative concepts and marketing briefs into concrete, relevant, and technically feasible material proposals
- Collaborate closely with Design teams to support creative development through material innovation and identify technical or industrial risks early
- Work with Production teams to ensure smooth industrialization and anticipate technical constraints
- Manage communication and information sharing regarding materials used in collections across all departments
- Lead color development processes, ensuring consistency and precision between Design, Development, and Production teams
- Pilot harmonization, validation, and approval processes for colors applied to leather materials
- Develop and maintain a network of leather suppliers meeting the Maison's standards of excellence, innovation, and quality
- Identify new sourcing opportunities aligned with long-term strategy and the Maison's requirements
- Select the most suitable supplier partners based on project needs, technical constraints, and creative direction
- Monitor development timelines and ensure material availability for sampling phases on schedule
- Track and communicate project progress, critical issues, and risks to relevant teams
- Support industrialization phases by identifying technical subjects requiring adjustments or complementary development
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in materials sourcing within the luxury industry
- Confirmed expertise in leather and its applications in fashion, leather goods, or accessories
- Excellent knowledge of leather, treatments, finishes, and manufacturing processes
- Strong ability to analyze creative and marketing briefs and translate them into concrete sourcing strategies
- Excellent relational skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Active listening, adaptability, and emotional intelligence in creative and technical environments
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid knowledge of leather industry supplier networks
