Christian Dior Couture — Paris: Leather Material Sourcer to source and qualify high-quality leathers for leather goods collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partner with the Design Accessories team to translate collection briefs into material specifications and identify suitable leather qualities.
- Collaborate with designers, product developers and studios to develop new materials and adapt existing leathers to collection requirements.
- Manage the development of prints, finishes and surface treatments in concert with in-house studios, the Florence Materials teams and external manufacturers.
- Coordinate and monitor quality testing, regulatory compliance and adherence to Dior environmental, safety and quality standards.
- Interface with the Product Development Office to support prototype production, swatch approvals and launch readiness.
- Prepare and maintain color and material masters for production and liaise with Industrialization for implementation.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing tanneries and suppliers while identifying and qualifying new strategic partners.
- Align sourcing activities with the Maison’s supplier strategy and share insights regularly with the wider Sourcing team.
- Conduct market research on material innovations, sustainable alternatives and emerging technologies to inform sourcing decisions.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a fashion or engineering school, or a recognised certificate in the leather industry.
- Minimum 5 years' professional experience in leather goods production or tanneries; 7–8 years preferred with demonstrable sourcing responsibility.
- Technical mastery of leather materials, processing techniques and finishes applicable to luxury leather goods.
- Fluency in French and Italian is mandatory; advanced English (C1–C2) required.
- Proven track record in supplier development, negotiation and commercial sourcing for leather materials.
- Strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrable sensitivity to quality control processes and sustainable development practices.

Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leather goods production departments and/or tanneries, with 7–8 years preferred; prior responsibility for sourcing or purchasing leather materials for finished goods is strongly desired.
Education
Degree from a fashion or engineering school, or specialised certification in the leather industry.
