Role & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive strategic direction to the Raw Material Sourcing division, ensuring alignment with quality, creativity, sustainability, and industrial scalability objectives
- Identify, evaluate, and strategically develop a global network of premium suppliers and innovative sourcing opportunities for raw materials and critical components
- Monitor and analyse global market trends, emerging material innovations, and advancements in sustainable practices within luxury fashion and leathergoods sectors
- Foster robust collaborations with Design, Product Development, Purchasing, and Production teams to integrate raw material sourcing into collection development and ensure industrial feasibility
- Oversee all material development initiatives, ensuring adherence to exacting quality standards, environmental stewardship principles, and international safety regulations
- Cultivate and nurture high-value relationships with key suppliers and external partners, aligned with long-term strategic sourcing objectives
- Drive cost analysis and material pricing strategies to optimise value without compromising quality or ethical sourcing principles
- Represent the brand at premier industry events and lead market scouting initiatives to identify emerging trends, transformative technologies, and sourcing opportunities
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the leathergoods industry within a luxury brand
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, supplier management, and sourcing processes
- Solid understanding of industrial and product development dynamics within complex organisations
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and previous team management experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong sensitivity toward quality, innovation, and sustainability topics
- Fluent English required; French and Italian strongly preferred
