Christian Dior Couture internship: Assistant Studio Knitwear in Paris. Six-month role supporting design, prototyping, and technical development.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creative process by researching fashion trends, concepts, and textile innovations
  • Support the design and technical development of knitted fabrics
  • Assist in the technical development of knitwear garments, including drafting clear flat sketches
  • Aid in the sampling, prototyping, and refinement stages of new designs
  • Maintain an organized system for yarns, swatches, fabric samples, and digital design files
  • Provide crucial support to the knitwear team during collection development cycles and fashion week
  • Work collaboratively with other departments
  • Carry out general day-to-day administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the Studio
  • Assist in organizing team meetings and preparing presentations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Design or Textile Design (valid internship agreement from current school is mandatory)
  • A genuine passion for fashion with a creative research mindset
  • Strong understanding of knitwear design principles and textile construction
  • Strong proficiency in Photoshop and/or Illustrator
  • Completed at least one graduation collection or previous experience in a design studio
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid portfolio submission required
