Christian Dior Couture seeks an Assistant Boutique Manager to support the Boutique Director with daily sales-team management, client service, commercial performance, merchandising, inventory, and store operations. The role is permanent and full-time in San Diego, California, with a salary of $115,000–$125,000 annually plus bonus eligibility.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Increase sales and measure sales performance and conversion rates daily.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and assist with day-to-day sales team management.
  • Assign and monitor Sales Associates’ sales goals.
  • Develop the boutique’s clientele and train the team to optimize Capture Rate and After Sale for customer database development.
  • Prepare merchandise displays and presentations, applying merchandising concepts and guidelines with independent judgment and discretion.
  • Train, coach, develop, and lead Sales Associates in selling skills.
  • Conduct or participate in regular store meetings on performance, sales training, product knowledge, merchandising, and other necessary information; facilitate communication between management and associates.
  • Coordinate sales promotions, including seasonal sales, trunk shows, contests, and the appropriate use of in-store promotional signage.
  • Gather merchandise for transfers, damages, and returns to vendor; coordinate and participate in department inventories; monitor merchandise pricing and minimize stock losses.
  • Oversee compliance with company policies and standards for funds and property safeguarding, personnel practices, merchandise handling, security, sales, and record-keeping.
  • Resolve issues affecting department service, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Open and close the boutique; secure the store and oversee compliance with security procedures.
  • Manage boutique operations, including attendance, merchandising, and housekeeping standards; schedule staff and complete inventory.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of retail experience, preferably including at least 1 year of management experience in a luxury product setting.
  • Initiative and commercial creativity, with fashion sensitivity.
  • Strong knowledge of the luxury industry and fashion sensitivity consistent with the brand.
  • Ability to develop and train associates, build relationships, and make appropriate use of associates’ skills.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service and manage sales staff toward sales and clienteling objectives.
  • Ability to manage boutique operations, including attendance, merchandising, and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to maintain fair and consistent workforce standards.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, concise communication; attentive listening; ability to understand material and provide instructions to associates.
  • Ability to operate POS systems, a PC, phone systems, a cash register, a sensor-tag remover, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed; availability to work the hours required to open and/or close the store.
  • Ability to remain on the selling floor for extended periods as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
