Confidential luxury Maison in Meyrin, Switzerland seeks a Watch Designer to create and develop new watch products and 3D presentations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and propose new watch product ideas aligned with the brand’s global strategy and aesthetic codes.
  • Create, adapt and refresh collections while ensuring strict adherence to the Maison’s visual identity.
  • Develop design proposals from brief through to validated prototype, including modifications to existing watch components.
  • Produce realistic 3D models and graphic presentations for internal review and hand off technical files to the Technical Case and Movement Departments.
  • Prepare graphic and technical plans for suppliers and validate supplier-dimensioned drawings against design specifications.
  • Deliver hand sketches and bespoke visuals for Marketing; produce graphics for Purchasing and Accessories (presentation cases, leaflets, desk clocks, writing instruments, cufflinks).
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Case and Movement teams to track aesthetic development until final prototype approval.
  • Conduct market and competitor trend analysis (aesthetics, materials, techniques) and participate in industry fairs (e.g., Watches and Wonders, EPHJ).
  • Coordinate with Legal for design registrations and model filings.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Horology, or equivalent vocational qualification in watch design.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating wristwatch design experience and collection development for luxury brands.
  • Sound knowledge of watch components, materials and manufacturing constraints.
  • Excellent hand-drawing skills and experience producing precise technical and supplier-ready drawings.
  • Strong ability to translate briefs into 3D visuals and cross-functional technical documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with Technical Case, Movement, Purchasing and Legal teams and manage supplier interactions.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Industrial/Product Design, Horology, or related discipline; formal horology training is an advantage.
