The Watch Case Finishing Apprentice carries out surface preparation and finishing on watch and jewellery components, including polishing and bright polishing, and checks the aesthetic quality of the work. The role also involves basic preparation using CNC finishing machines, contributing to process development and evaluation, and designing and producing tools and fixtures.
Role & Responsibilities
- Carry out manual surface preparation and finishing operations, including circular graining, beading, satin finishing, polishing and bright polishing.
- Perform basic surface preparation using CNC finishing machines on materials including yellow gold, rose gold, white gold, platinum, steel, titanium and brass.
- Inspect the aesthetic quality of completed work.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of processes to support innovation and continuous improvement.
- Design and produce tools and fixtures.
