About Chopard
Founded in 1860 and guided today by the Scheufele family, Chopard is an independent Swiss Maison renowned for its high jewellery, watchmaking excellence, and distinctive sense of joyful elegance. As an employer, the Maison offers a refined environment where heritage craftsmanship, innovation, and responsible luxury meet. Teams are invited to contribute to exceptional creations, from Geneva workshops to international boutiques, while upholding exacting standards of quality, service, and ethics. Chopard’s commitment to sustainable luxury, including its pioneering use of ethical gold, reflects a culture of purpose, transmission, and excellence for professionals seeking to build a meaningful career in luxury.
Chopard seeks a Senior Tax Manager to lead group-wide direct and indirect tax matters, transfer pricing and tax compliance, either internally or with external consultants. The role covers tax strategy, reporting and BEPS Pillar Two, tax audits and returns, dividend tax formalities, regulatory monitoring and operational tax support across the group.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the group-wide tax strategy, and analyse, plan and monitor the group’s tax compliance activities.
- Maintain and update Chopard’s transfer pricing policy, validate the group’s value-chain creation, and monitor OECD and jurisdictional legislative developments in transfer pricing.
- Coordinate with consultants on the annual preparation of transfer pricing documentation, including Master File and Local Files, in line with legal requirements, and identify jurisdictions subject to documentation obligations.
- Manage reporting requirements under OECD, EU and Swiss rules, including CBCR and/or PCBCR reports and DAC6 and DAC7.
- Plan and coordinate BEPS Pillar Two data collection and consolidation procedures, validate the data, and prepare reporting—including tax packs and deferred tax calculations—required to calculate the global minimum tax and applicable safe-harbour exemptions.
- Ensure implementation and execution of BEPS Pillar Two filing and compliance obligations, including local registration, the Global Information Return and local returns.
- Support group entities during local tax audits and coordinate external parties involved in each case.
- Prepare tax returns for Swiss entities headquartered or operating through branches in various cantons, and review foreign subsidiaries’ tax returns with local teams.
- Manage tax formalities for intra-group dividend distributions, including withholding-tax forms and recovery of foreign withholding taxes.
- Support group entities on indirect tax matters, including VAT and withholding taxes, in collaboration with external consultants.
- Monitor direct and indirect tax developments in all countries relevant to Chopard, anticipating regulatory changes that may affect global or local compliance obligations.
- Act as the specialist point of contact for business-related operational tax matters.
- Participate in internal audit assignments to assess the tax compliance of the relevant entity.
- Contribute to discussions on indirect tax optimisation, including VAT and customs duties, with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
- Provide tax support for restructuring, asset-transfer and other projects.
