Role & Responsibilities
- Define and maintain material quality standards and specifications for fabrics, leathers, trims and components across seasonal collections.
- Establish and operate material testing protocols, laboratory procedures and acceptance criteria (physical, chemical and visual tests).
- Manage incoming material inspections, sampling, approvals and non-conformance resolution with suppliers, mills and tanneries.
- Drive supplier quality performance through audits, corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with design, product development, sourcing and production to ensure materials meet creative intent, technical requirements and regulatory standards.
- Maintain quality documentation — technical files, test reports, deviation logs and material master data — and report KPIs to stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams on material behaviour, handling and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Degree in textile engineering, materials science, leather technology or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven experience in materials quality assurance within luxury fashion, apparel or leather goods (typically 5+ years).
- Demonstrable experience managing supplier quality, audits and corrective actions in an international sourcing environment.
- Solid knowledge of textile and leather testing methods and standards, and familiarity with quality management systems.

Significant track record (typically 5+ years) in material quality assurance for luxury apparel or leather goods, including hands-on testing, supplier management and cross-functional collaboration with design and sourcing teams.
Education
Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, materials science, leather technology or equivalent; advanced technical qualifications preferred.
