Role & Responsibilities
- Operate industrial dishwashing machinery and manual washing processes to ensure all plates, glassware and cutlery meet the house standard of cleanliness.
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness in the dishwashing area, kitchens and storage zones, applying standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Handle the receipt, movement and storage of dishes, pots, pans and kitchen utensils with appropriate care.
- Prepare and restore kitchen stations before and after service, supporting cooks and chefs with mise-en-place tasks when required.
- Adhere to HACCP and workplace safety regulations; report any non‑conformities or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Monitor and request replenishment of cleaning supplies and detergents to avoid service disruption.
- Contribute to a calm, efficient back-of-house environment and support team cohesion during high-paced service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a steward/dishwasher in a hotel or high-end restaurant environment; minimal experience accepted.
- Knowledge of HACCP and basic food-safety regulations.
- Proven reliability, strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under sustained service pressure.
