Cheval Blanc Paris seeks a Sommelier Intern to support Michelin-starred dining operations in this luxury hospitality internship position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Guide guests through the wine and spirits selection, demonstrating expertise and creating memorable tasting moments
- Develop and execute harmonious wine and food pairings in collaboration with the culinary team
- Provide attentive consultation on guest preferences and deliver personalized wine service recommendations
- Perform wine service with precision, enhancing and elevating the overall dining experience
- Manage cellar operations including stock monitoring, inventory audits, and proper wine storage conditions
- Assist in operational wine service setup and ensure consistent execution of service standards
Qualifications
- BEP/CAP/BAC PRO in Hospitality or Culinary Arts
- Prior experience in luxury hospitality or Michelin-starred restaurants (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in food and beverage service in a comparable establishment
- Fluent English (written and verbal) is mandatory
- Proficiency in a third language such as Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, or Portuguese is valued
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Micros POS systems, and La Fourchette platform
Skills
Experience
Entry-level candidates with foundational knowledge of wine service are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in luxury hospitality or Michelin-starred establishments is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate significant service experience in establishments of comparable standing.
Education
BEP, CAP, or BAC PRO in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or Restaurant Management required.
